The cold face mask was helpful, yesterday. I don’t use it often but when unable to get around & in pain I believe it has been beneficial at speeding up recovery time. I put an eye sleep mask on after drinking a good amount of water first & applied some peppermint oil to the most painful areas, insuring that I didn’t get the essential oil too close to my eyes & then I put the cold facial mask on & I was able to rest for a while. It might have been 30 minutes to an hour & I was feeling better & able to get around.

This is not my first migraine cap. This one stands above the rest because it is very soft and has no smell. I also like that it is flexible enough to slide down to put around your neck. It both heats and chills nicely. The only thing I'd change is the packaging - it'd be nice to just have a reusable bag with the directions printed right on it, so you could just put it straight in the fridge. (There is a clear reusable bag included.) Overall though, it is soft and comfy and definitely worth getting.

When the temperature climbs, so does the likelihood of developing a migraine or other severe headache. In one recent study, researchers found a 7.5% increase in headache risk for every 9 degrees Fahrenheit. Strong smells -- even nice ones -- trigger migraines in many people. Why this happens is unclear, but the odors may stimulate the nervous system. The most common culprits are paint, dust, perfume, and certain types of flowers.
